Alright, so, my boyfriend and I just got back to school, so we hadn't had PIV sex in three and a half months. It hurt like HELL going in, but I kind of expected that, just because it'd been so long. But then, pretty much the entire time, it hurt a little bit. And there was a bit of a burn.

Would you suspect a UTI? My pee did burn when I went afterward, but that tends to be fairly standard after rough sex for me. It doesn't burn now and I am not urinating any more frequently. But things do feel a little more dry down there? Like, just sort of irritated and sore. Could it just be from not having had PIV sex in so long?

Thanks so much. I really hope this goes away soon. I don't want sex to continue to feel like this. I had to stop him after a few minutes when we tried to go for a second time later that night. I am going to chug water and see if I can get some cranberry juice just in case. I don't exactly have the money right now to pay for antibiotics for a UTI. =/

Soo, I've been on Yasmin for a year, I've taken the active pills back to back in order to skip my period a couple of times, but for the most part it's kept me regular and happy.

I had my last period while I was packing up everything I owned to move to New York, and took my first active pill at the beginning of August. After that I was on a plane a lot - first to NY, then to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where I remained until the last of the cycle's active pills were done. I took my last active pill on the 17th, and flew back to NY on the 19th.

So where the hell is my period?

1. Could so much travel/stress cause my period to be so late, even when I was on HBC during my cycle? Has this happened to you?

2. When I went to the gyno (Planned Parenthood) before I moved, I asked if I could be put on Yaz, a different, lower-dose version of Yasmin. I'd wanted to try it for a while, but it wasn't covered under PP until recently. I've had mixed success with low-dose - sometimes I've had a bit of spotting, and even breakthrough bleeding if I'm going against my own cycle. Sooo, I honestly don't want to start Yaz until my period shows up (I'm definitely not going to be sexually active again for couple months at least). I don't really mind delaying taking my pill due to my period being so late, so long as there's nothing seriously wrong with my parts - I've yet to visit the PP in the New York area (which I need to do for my annual exam), so for now I don't mind saving my bc till my cycle starts up again.

So should I wait my elusive period out, or try something like ginger tea to jumpstart it? Would something like ginger tea put my cycle out of whack enough to make a low-dose pill unsuccessful?

3. Is this something that I should really go to Planned Parenthood about? I'm just worried about making an appointment for my annual exam in two weeks or so, then by the time that rolls around I'll be on my period. Oy.

Any experience, suggestions, ideas would be welcome! Thanks so much for reading.

Im looking for some recommendations of good OB/GYNs in the Orlando area. I currently have a GYN that I see regularly but I always have a hard time getting in for appointments unless I book months in advance. Right now I need to be seen by a doctor that will actually sit down and take the time to figure out what is happening to my right now. (Please refer to my post from yesterday http://community.livejournal.com/vaginapagina/14002406.html). The soonest appointment I could get was for September 18th and its not even with my regular doctor. I am so frustrated!

Any recommendations are welcome. I would like someone with particular experience in Endometriosis and PCOS.

Anyways, I still have a metric ton of costume work to get done today, along with a fair amount of shopping for costume pieces for her and last minute stuff for mine. I'm hoping and praying that I'll be able to spray paint later today, because hand panting my Host mask is looking...like shit. And I realized that I never touched up my chain for Dawn either. It'll probably be a long night tonight getting things finished.

The kitties have been so frickin adorable lately that I'm about to overdose on the cuteness. It's definitely reached lethal levels. Crowley woke me up patting my face this morning. He knows I'm usually up before 7:30. Lexi did the same thing the other day, except she poked my chest rather than my face. Steiner and Schiezka are laying together halfway wrapped in the curtain right now, alternating grooming each other and trying to bat at each other but being too lazy to move much to do it. Stacy wants to steal them all. I shall have to check her luggage before she leaves, hehehe.

I cannot thank the people of this community enough for their kind words and support a few months back when I had posted several times in regards to possibly having HIV. I am of negative status, however, can empathize and sympathize with those who are in fear of "the unknown". I now dedicate and involve myself, as often as possible, to advocate getting tested, keeping one's self protected as well as EDUCATED when it comes to sexual health.


Concerning my sister; I was wondering... If you're on birth control for an extended period of time, is it possible to experience, say, menopausal symptoms?

My sister has been on Apri for nearly 8 years. She's 23. Recently, she's been gaining a significant amount of weight, and her body looks almost.. Less womanly? Please excuse my ignorance if "womanly" offends anyone, but to better explain: it appears as though she has become more broad around the neck and shoulders. She doesn't have curves. It's just, like, straight. She has always been very petite, but has gone from 120lbs. to 160lbs. in less than 4 months. Thyroid's been checked, all other vitals.. And nothing. She eats well (not too much or too little), does Yoga- overall, a very active, healthy young woman.

Could it simply be that she's going through a hormonal change?

It's fucking 57 degrees outside tonight. It sank in as we left the diner at 2:30am that summer is over. This really depressed me.

I leave for school in like, four days.

I'm scared for my future. I'm scared about college and majors and transferring and California and love and distance. God I hate this distance, but I swear on everything I am I'm going to make this work. I'm going to prove I can do this right this time around, even from 3,000 miles away. And I swear she's worth every mile.

This is going to be an interesting year. As I described just a little while ago, I feel like I'm standing at the top of a big cliff staring down into some infinite and unknown abyss. It's too late to turn around, my only option is to jump.

At least I'm holding someone's hand, and we can jump together. We'll be okay.

So, on a break from packing and homework, I read the first 2 chapters of Bakuman, the new manga by the mangaka behind Death Note.

Basically it's about two middle school boys who decide to become mangaka together. Sounds boring, right? WRONG!
